The little things about highschool
High school is a scary place. It's both good scary and bad scary. Major changes occur during high school, both personality and appearance wise. Until now I felt like everyone else around me was changing, and I was stuck being the same goody two shoes I was in middle school. Sometimes it takes a big slap in the face to realize what is really going on in your life. Back stabbers, liars, heartache, and disappointment are all apart of life. While in most cases all of those things seem to cause trouble in life, they may also shape a life. In my case it has caused lots and lots of trouble, but I'm trying to take it as a learning experience. I have spent several hours laying in my bed replaying every conversation and action from a given day. It tends to consume me, I want to please everyone and make them happy. I should have friends that accept me for who I really am, but it just doesn't work that way. People are hateful and cruel and love to watch others fail. Loosing a group of friends you have had since middle school right when you need them simply sucks. Why should I be punished for making the right decisions. I want to help my friends, not hurt them. Being afraid to go to school, the place I love the most, is something I never thought I would experience. Although, the past month or two hasn't been the best I think I have learned to make my own decisions and its not about the quantity of friends one has but the quality of those friends. Age nor gender define friendship. For several years I thought I would have to be in a tragic place to befriend one younger than me, yet here I stand. It turns out the younger friends I have made this year are better than the friends I had before. People are people. Yes, maturity may vary due to a persons age, but age does not define personality and morals. While friendships have seem to suck this year, they have been simply amazing at the same time. High school doesn't just revolve around friends, there is so much more than that.
